Examples of use: big bag emptying systems

Big bag emptying stations are rarely only used for emptying full containers. In most cases, at least the installation of metering and conveying equipment is needed to take the emptied material to the next process step. Furthermore, Engelsmann also integrates additional bulk solids technologies such as protective screens, discharging devices or crushers into the emptying system in a space-saving manner. Designs for complex requirements such as combined systems comprising multiple emptying stations or emptying solutions which can subsequently be modified are also produced as custom products.

Multifunctional bulk handling system for copackers: flexible emptying, screening, and conveying

For a copacker, processing a wide range of bulk solids from various industries, a special emptying station was needed: integrated passing and control screening, and the option of connecting two different conveying systems offer the operator a broad range of applications for this bulk handling system. more

Tire production: emptying and conveying of silica

Double the emptying power for a tire manufacturer. The abrasive product silica is emptied, with no dust, via two combined emptying stations, is then brought together via inclined screws, and is conveyed onward in metered doses to the next processing step. more

Big bag emptying system for product with poor flow characteristics

Products which clump a lot are a real challenge for the bulk solids technology used. Engelsmann designed a bulk handling system for a client in the chemical industry which, thanks to multiple discharge aids and a discharging device, empties the product with no clumps and conveys it to the next process step. more

Examples of use: big bag filling systems

Big bag filling systems from Engelsmann represent more than just simple filling of containers. Alongside metering and weighing systems for high-precision filling, transportation of the big bags to be filled or removal of the empty bags can be provided via roller conveyor systems, for example. In addition, further process steps such as control screening can be integrated into the bulk handling system in a space-saving manner. Complex requirements for the bulk solids technology used, such as simultaneous filling of containers of different sizes or combination stations which can be used to fill sacks and drums as well as big bags, are also implemented.

Screening, Dosing, Filling - Precisely Fitting System for Cramped Conditions

When space is tight, individually customized solutions are ahead of standardized components. This is also demonstrated by the small turnkey system that Engelsmann especially designed for a manufacturer of the chemical industry: Due to the precisely fitting integration of the system unit, the customer was able to make optimal use of the limited space and even integrate an additional process step. more

Mobile filling station for large and small containers

Reconfiguring a big bag station so that small containers can also be filled is generally laborious and expensive. A project on a mobile filling system for small containers with integrated fine screening which can simply be driven into the existing big bag filling station proves that it doesn’t have to be this way. more

Classify, fill, done: multiple filling in a confined space

A chemical granulate is to be classified into five groups and then filled either into drums or into big bags. Limited space and the customer’s desire to be able to fill either multiple drums simultaneously or one big bag make the requirements for this bulk handling system particularly challenging. more

Examples of use: screening systems

Screening machines can be found in most manufacturing processes in which bulk solids are processed – but they are seldom the central element of a system. Screens are much more commonly integrated into existing or new bulk handling systems as an additional process step. Engelsmann builds screening machines into both its own system designs and into the customers’ existing production systems. Here, the screening machines are combined with the upstream and downstream processes – e.g. with conveying processes or filling of the product into drums, big bags, or small containers.

Fully automated drum emptying and screening of fragile catalysts

In order to empty fragile catalysts with little dust and without particle degradation, Engelsmann developed a fully automated drum emptying system which works in a way that is particularly gentle on the product. Subsequent fine screening and metered feeding into the screening step are also represented in the system unit. more

Examples of use: mixing systems

Our mixing systems represent more than just the actual mixing process, they also integrate conveying and metering processes such as feeding of the product into the mixer (e.g. directly from a big bag in combination with a big bag emptying station) or transportation of the mixed material after emptying of the mixer.

Raw material handling in the production of synthetic resin

In order for the resin and the curing agent to be reactive, their primary products must also be mixed together in the correct ratio to produce a homogeneous end product. A bulk handling system from Engelsmann provides a manufacturer of epoxy resins with not only the mixing process, but also the metered feeding of the individual components with subsequent drum filling. more

Examples of use: other bulk handling systems

Our expertise in bulk solids technology is not limited to just the fields of screening, mixing, and big bag handling. The emptying and filling of drums or small containers can also be integrated into bulk handling system units. In addition, we also offer combined bulk handling systems which include multiple process steps and plan individually designed bulk solids technology solutions in the field of conveying, metering, and weighing systems.

All in one: conveying, screening, and filling in metered doses in foil production

Engelsmann designed a bulk handling system for a manufacturer of plastic powder which, in addition to conveying, screening, and metering, also realizes the filling of product which is ready for sale into various containers with different fill weights. more

Drying and filling system for plastic powder

A dryer with a gross volume of 20,000 dm³, a protective screen, and a filling unit for big bags and sacks: these components are part of the largest drying and filling system which Engelsmann has ever designed. more
